About Gary Jeffrey
Gary was born in Scotland and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Gary has been in Collingwood since 2004. He has over 30 years of teaching and playing experience. He began working as an Assistant at Kings Forest Golf Club in Hamilton and then moved to the prestigious Hamilton Golf and Country Club as an Associate before leaving to assist in building the Crosswinds Golf Club in Burlington five years later.
Gary was the last Head Professional at the Owen Sound Golf and Country Club and also was a Head of Instruction at Golftown.
During Gary’s years as a P.G.A. of Canada Member, some of his accomplishments include P.G.A. of Canada Ontario Zone Assistant Professional of the Year, 2-time Assistant Professional of the Year, Hamilton-Niagara Zone, P.G.A. of Ontario Assistant’s Championship Winner, 2-time P.G.A. of Ontario Assistant’s Northern Championship Winner. Gary also claimed the PGA of Ontario Senior Player of the Year in his first year in that category winning 3 events and 3 runners-up. He is also the only two-time Pro Champion of the Georgian Bay Club Pro-Member event along with numerous Pro-Am and area Mini Tour event wins.
Gary has attended numerous golf instruction seminars featuring top teachers such as Hank Haney, Rick Smith, Dave Pelz, Jimmy Ballard, Mike Hebron, Stan Utley and Jim Flick to name a few. Some other influences are Dr. Bob Rotella, Dr. Rick Jensen and local legends such as George Knudson, Moe Norman and Bob Panisiuk.
He has also attended various club-fitting and repair workshops and brings with him vast experience in all golf areas. His Collingwood Golf Services business offers club repairs, re-gripping and industry consulting.
Gary joins Duntroon Highlands in 2026 as the new DIrector of the Golf Academy.
