Duntroon Highlands Golf sits on one of the highest points of the escarpment in the Collingwood & Blue Mountain area. In the fall it becomes truly spectacular thanks to its mixed forest rich with maples and other trees that showcase brilliant colours mid September to mid October.

Duntroon Highlands Golf sits on one of the highest points of the escarpment in this area. Its breathtaking views of South Georgia Bay, exciting and adventurous par 71 course, and well manicured fairways and challenging greens make it one of the best fall golf getaways in Ontario.

In the fall it becomes truly spectacular thanks to its mixed forest rich with maples and other trees that showcase brilliant colours mid September to mid October.

The golf course is designed from level to rolling and open to tight. Water affects play on 12 holes, and magnificent maple trees line many fairways. At just under 6,000 yards and with distinct front and back 9 features, the course is well suited for golfers looking for shorter playing times.

The Front Nine features a fun par 3 hole over the pond as well as the newly renovated 9th tee, which was voted one of the best elevated tee shots in Ontario.  The Back Nine is more sheltered with tree-lined fairways.  Take a virtual tour of each hole here.

The Cafe Patio at Duntroon Highlands Golf looks out across the 18th fairway and beyond into the escarpment forest with some of the richest colours in the fall. In addition to the locally inspired menu and beverages, a crackling fire burns on cooler days along with blankets and extra heaters made available to guests.

The reason for the brilliant colours at Duntroon Highlands is because the forest is rich with maple trees.

In fact there are enough maple trees in and around the golf course that at one point a maple syrup cabin operated here!

On top of that, the elevation of the course means the nights are just a bit cooler, which helps make the colours more radiant.

For those looking for a more immersive Fall experience, be sure to check out our Stay & Play packages.  The Highlands House is one of the featured Stay & Play partners and is located right beside the golf course!  Custom Escarpment Tours are also available for groups of 8 or more.

Collingwood, Blue Mountains and Creemore are just some of the towns that are nestled in and around an incredible part of the Escarpment in South Georgian Bay, a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

The nights have started to cool down and some trees have already started to show their colours.

So be sure to book your tee time now! We can also help you plan out a more immersive Fall experience here in the Highlands as well as in the Collingwood and Blue Mountain area.
